City of Shoreline
Forest Restoration
Welcome to the Green Shoreline Partnership! To register to volunteer, visit our online portal CEDAR. Any questions or need more information? Email Joy Wood at stewardship@restorationad.com.
We invite you and your community to join the City of Shoreline’s Forest Stewards to perform ecological restoration in Shoreline’s forested parks!
No experience necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and determination for community-engaged restoration at any of the parks listed below. We welcome individuals, families, and groups who would like to do good removing noxious weeds and installing native plants – rain or shine!
We work in the following city parks:
Boeing Creek near the Shoreview dog park
Brugger's Bog
Darnell
Echo Lake
Hamlin
Twin Ponds
North City
Northcrest
Shoreline
Richmond Beach Saltwater Park
We will provide tools. Please bring a water bottle, layers for the weather, and tough shoes and clothes that can get muddy. Bring gloves if you have them, but we have some that you can borrow.
We aim to engage Shoreline residents, community groups, and others in recognizing the vital advantages our urban forests contribute to Shoreline’s environmental, social, and economic well-being. Urban forests provide many benefits including, but not limited to:
Enhanced human wellness
Improved air quality and mitigated wind effects
Reduction in stormwater runoff and erosion, which ameliorates flooding issues
Increased shade and cooling for our city homes and businesses, and fish-bearing streams, such as Thornton Creek
Enhancement of wildlife habitat
We look forward to restoring with you!
